Babelgum si lancia. Fa una grande operazione che se riuscisse lo aprirebbe ad un filone molto prolifico di contenuti. I produttori di film indipendenti, i registi emergenti e gli studenti delle scuole di cinema.

The global online event celebrating the best in international independent film is a brilliant opportunity for emerging filmmaking talent including students. Films submitted to the competition will be showcased on the Babelgum Online Film Festival Channel launching next year.

Un concorso, dunque, che ha come premio ben 20.000 Euro ma che garantirebbe a Babelgum tanto materiale per il suo canale dedicato ai festival cinematografici.

Il concorso ha 7 categorie:

• The Babelgum Looking for Genius Award - to new or emerging talent who display clear and outstanding achievement through direction, animation, writing and/or camera work;
• The Babelgum Short Film Award - to the best short film (preferably under 20 minutes) that presents a clear, concise and original vision using the short film genre;
• The Babelgum Documentary Award - to the documentary that best presents its subject in a truthful and fair manner while being original and thought provoking;
• The Babelgum Animation Award - to the film that best displays story and the craft of animation;
• The Babelgum Social/ Environment Award - to the film that effectively addresses an issue impacting the world today;
• The Babelgum Spot/ Advertising Award - to the most creative advertising spot highlighting a certain product;
• The Babelgum Music Video Award - to the most innovative music promo.

Il giudice onorario sarà Spike Lee.

Spike explains that joining up with Babelgum gives independent filmmakers the freedom to screen their work globally, he says: “You have no excuses now. If you have a film and you’re talented and someone is not seeing it, it’s your fault.”
